Loris Bog-Off
The 47th Annual Loris Bog-Off Festival takes over downtown Loris on Saturday, October 17, 2026, transforming Railroad Avenue into a full‑day celebration of food, music, and community pride. What began in 1980 as a friendly chicken bog cooking contest has grown into a major fall festival drawing tens of thousands from across the Carolinas.
Visitors can explore 200+ vendors, enjoy two stages of live entertainment, and let kids loose in a large dedicated children’s area. Local dance teams, school choruses, and regional bands keep the energy high throughout the day, leading up to a free national‑act concert and a fireworks finale that lights up the Loris sky.
Of course, the heart of the festival remains the Top Bog Cooking Competition, where chefs compete to create the best version of the iconic chicken bog. Attendees can sample authentic plates prepared on‑site or indulge in classic festival treats like funnel cakes and homemade ice cream.
New for 2026, the festival once again includes the Loris “Chicken Run” Bog-Off 5K, kicking off at 8:00 AM at the corner of Casey and Meeting Street—perfect for runners looking to start the day strong before diving into the festivities.
